This past week there was a war of words between New York State Republican Gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. On Monday Chris Christie who is the head of the Republican Governors Association was asked weather he would help Rob Astorino. His response was "We don't invest in lost causes." He also said, "we don't pay for landslides and we don't invest in lost causes." Astorino fought back by saying, Chris Christie has campaigned across the country for other Republican Party Gubernatorial candidates. Including in the State of California and New Hampshire. In both of those states the Republican is far behind in the polls. Rob Astorino also said "Clearly, he could come across the bridge and not just raise money for himself but raise money for the Republican candidate here unless he is unable or unwilling because he has an issue that we don't know about with Andrew Cuomo and the Bridgegate scandal." He then went on to say "And if that's the case and he feels he can't do it, then maybe he should step down as chairman because his role is to raise money for Republican candidates." This clearly shows Chris Christie has no loyalty to the party. As the chairman of the Republican Governors Association its your job to help Republicans get elected to the Governorship in every state. If you think a Republican can't win you don't go out in public and downgrade a candidates campaign. Andrew Cuomo was elected Governor of New York in 2010 after serving as New York's Attorney General from 2007 - 2010. Politics for Andrew Cuomo is nothing new. His father, Mario Cuomo was Governor of New York for three terms. His father even tried to go for an unprecedented forth term but was defeated by George Pataki. Before serving as New Yorks Attorney General Andrew Cuomo worked in President Bill Clinton's administration. He was the 11th United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. He also served as the Assistant United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for Community Planning and Development. To top it all off Andrew Cuomo was even married to Kerry Kennedy. They got married in 1990 and divorced in 2005. She is the daughter of Robert Kennedy. When Andrew Cuomo first became Governor he took over a state that really had no leader for four years. We had Spitzer from 2007 - 2008, but he resigned in disgrace. For the remainder of his term the state was run by David Paterson. Governor Paterson did not do anything monumental for the state. Unfortunately when Andrew Cuomo took over he did nothing to improve New York State. Under his term as Governor, New York state has seen a dramatic decline in its population. The taxes in the state are out of control. If you live in New York you are roughly giving away 51% of your income in total to the government. Energy prices are at record rates, New York is ranked as one of the worst states to do business in and the education system in the state is a disaster. Lets also not forget about the Safe act that Cuomo implemented. The list of problems can continue forever. The point is this New York has not improved at all under Andrew Cuomo. You reelect a person because you like what that person has done. No New Yorker should like what Andrew Cuomo did to the state. That's why its for Andrew Cuomo to go! The Republican running against Andrew Cuomo is Westchester Count Executive Rob Astorino. Visit Rob Astorino's website by clicking here.
